Evidence Supporting Reinvestigation

There is a mass of evidence and a plethora of reasons to call for an independant public inquiry into 9/11. The investigation known as the 9/11 Commision only came about thanks to pressure groups in the US led by victims families. This investigation produce a report which was a unanimous report - meaning that if any commissioner disagreed with any aspect or finding then that evidence was left out of the final report. See David Ray Griffins groundbreaking analysis of this in his book Omissions and Distortions for more information.

To date there has been no public inquiry into the events of July 7th 2005 in London. Instead the public was given 'a narrative' - an official story layed out in a document where it is clear that the unknown authors did not have access to the evidence that must exist if the intelligence agencies and police forces statements are to be believed. Several researchers and groups including the July Seventh Truth Campaign have forced this narrative to be rewritten due to glaring inconsistancies and untruths. To date many of the concerns and critisisms have not yet been addressed.

In 2007 the West Yorkshire Truth Campaign was approach by Form Media who had been commissioned by Channel 4 (UK) to produce a documentary about 'conspiracies' called 'Who Really Runs The World'. We declined to take part in the documentary for various reasons regarding the nature of the project which you can find read about here. However, we supplied the spokepersons with the following summary of our concerns regarding 9/11 that we shared with the national 911 Truth Campaign (UK).

Formal Statement to Form Media by the West Yorkshire Truth Campaign and the 9/11 Truth Campaign (Britain & Ireland)

Thank you for your invitation to be involved in your forthcoming documentary "Who really runs the world".

As a campaign we do not express an opinion on the answer to this question. However if it is proven that US officials did author or facilitate the attacks on 9/11 and their cover-up then this would lead to a radical reappraisal of how the world is run.

The nine eleven truth campaign calls for a full investigation of all the events surrounding the nine eleven attacks. It notes that these attacks constituted a mass murder and calls for a vigorous criminal investigation which investigates all possibilities thoroughly and with no presumption in favour of the official story.

It supports the call of campaigners in the United States for a new, independent, extended and appropriately resourced investigation into the events, and any subsequent obstruction of justice by officials, media executives, or others.

The new enquiry should have powers of subpoena, the power to protect witnesses, and the right to demand immediate and unfettered access to any individual, and all relevant information wherever held. It should treat any official who does not co-operate fully as a potential suspect.

In the meanwhile we will support any investigation anywhere in the world so long as it is conducted in good faith and with no preconditions.
The campaign has no theory as to what did happen, however it notes that:

1. The official story has changed in several important respects and that no version of the official story is consistent with the evidence in the public domain.
2. Despite statements to the contrary the official story has not been the subject of an investigation; instead the official investigations have been based on the unfounded premise that the official story is true.
3. Whistleblowers have received personal threats and court orders to remain silent.
4. A great deal of evidence, mostly ignored by the official enquiries and the mainstream media, suggests that individuals in the US government colluded with or engineered the attacks.

The campaign accepts support from any individual or organisation including those who believe that the official story is approximately correct but who wish to see a thorough investigation. The campaign does not endorse any views on any subject which go beyond the material on this website.

Any documentary exploring the 9/11 truth movement cannot avoid looking at the role of the mainstream media in shaping the public understanding of the 911 attacks. The campaign challenges 8 urban legends regularly promoted by the mainstream media.

Urban Legend 1. Nine eleven sceptics are "conspiracy theorists".
Fact: the most nine eleven sceptics do not profess to know what happened, only that the mainstream media have got it badly wrong. Given that the official story is also a conspiracy theory, this phrase probably amounts to defamation.

Urban Legend 2. The 911 commission report proved the official story was true.

Fact: the nine eleven commission was forced by its terms of reference to assume the official story was true.

Urban Legend 3. The 911 commission was independent.

Fact: the commission was established by the presidency and answerable to the presidency. All of its personnel were long-standing Washington political operatives from the centre ground. Several members had glaring conflicts of interest. The executive director was a consultant to the Bush White House and had helped with the appointments of the key security officials under investigation. He was also a signatory to the notorious PNAC document which set out the military strategy of the regime in 1999, including the intention to station major military bases in Iraq.

Urban Legend 4. The NIST report explains the collapse of the World Trade Center.

Fact: the report does not attempt to explain two of the most suspicious aspects: the speed of collapse and the total destruction of the central core. It produces no evidence that the temperatures were reached which its models say would be required for any collapse.

Urban Legend 5. Experts have supported the official story.

Fact: most experts are reluctant to state an opinion because the evidence is not available. Evidence was destroyed on the orders of either the FBI or Mayor Giuliani (reports are unclear), and no independent observers were allowed to inspect the Pentagon.

Urban Legend 6. Any mistakes or changes in the official story are the result of "the fog of war".

Fact: the nine eleven commission determined that Pentagon officials probably committed criminal offences when they gave false information to the commission.

Urban Legend 7. To question the nine eleven attacks is to cause pain to the victims.

This may be true for some of the victims, but they have received very high levels of compensation. Many victims have been caused pain by the failure to investigate. A large proportion of the victims do not believe the official story and are demanding a genuine enquiry. Misleading statements in the media cause a great deal of pain to these victims.

Urban Legend 8. Nine eleven "conspiracy theorists" are a minority.
Opinion polls show that only a small minority of people believe the official story as promoted by the mainstream media. A larger proportion believes the official story is "mostly lies".

As time moves on the evidence does not go away and instead grows stronger. Many independant documentary film makers have been covering the evidence in support of reinvestigation and some have even begun to be shown on national TV networks and also at the European Union.

The time is right now for 911 truth to stand together with other concerned groups, organisations and indeed political parties and government and support the opening of full and indepentant public inquiry on the international stage. We must however be cautious that the we do not accept new finding on blind faith but rather hold any investigative body accountable to all for the benefit of humanity.
