Six and a half years ago my son Gary McKinnon admitted to computer intrusion but denied causing damage. He was searching for evidence of UFO's and supressed energy technology, as people were dying from cold and he believed the technology was there to prevent this.

Gary saw himself as being on a moral crusade, he also enjoyed the challenge but was shocked to see that there were no passwords or firewalls on thousands of American military computers and he felt it was just like logging on. He did not steal passwords as had no need to as there were none.

Gary was not searching for truth re-9/11 but he believed that 9/11 was an inside job and he left notes on the military and Pentagon computers by way of a cyber peace protest. The disruption Gary refers to is called Hacktivism and the intended disruption is a similar type of disruption a conventional peace protest would cause.

Gary's disruption was leaving cheeky political notes and looking for supressed information Re-Free Energy Technology.

Gary is a Vegetarian; he is a gentle Pacifist but his Extradition has been relentlessly pursued by both the U.K and the American governments as though he is a terrorist.

The ECHR turned down Gary's appeal but accepted Abu Hamza's and allowed him a stay, even although the Human Rights Points presented to the ECHR were virtually identical in both cases.

Gary has been Diagnosed with Aspergers Syndrome by Professor Simon Baron-Cohen and by Doctor Thomas Berney who is a Forensic Psychiatrist.

Normal or above average Intelligence is one of the criteria for being diagnosed with Aspergers.
People with Aspergers are naive and trusting but have a strong moral code and a strong sense of justice. They take everything literally and are honest even to their own detriment and Aspie adults are immature/young for their age.

The so called Plea Bargain was not binding in any way and this was pointed out to Gary which is why after initially agreeing to it, he refused it. The prosecution also wrote a letter saying that they reserved the right to try Gary as a terrorist.

It was also stated that the charges could be altered once Gary was in the US and that a Judge could sentence Gary to however many years he felt like.
This so called Plea bargain was not as described by many and was far from the six months wrongly published by some; which is why Gary refused it.

The U.S army's manual for Terrorism has listed Gary as a cyber terrorist.
The three to five years sentence originally quoted and the ten years since quoted by the U.S prosecutors was "per count" and as there are at least seven counts, this would amount to 35 up to 60 years years which would mean Gary would die in a hardline US prison.

He was told in no uncertain terms that if he didn't accept their excuse for a Plea Bargain that he would be prosecuted to the Max (ten years per count) but sixty years maximum allowed.

When someone is threatened with being Fried and the court case is to be held in Virginia which does have the death penalty, the threat is deadly serious and cannot be under or overestimated.

The lynch mob mentality shown by many in America is akin to Nazis.
Did Gary murder anyone? No! Did he rape anyone? No. He showed up a system with no passwords and no firewalls and he saw others from all over the world including China, wandering around the Pentagons computers.

That he could do this on a dial up machine almost seven years ago is a Huge joke or the embarrasement of the century. The people responsible for the Pentagon computers should be prosecuted to the Max, as if a real terrorist had wandered into their systems (which are equally unsecure to this day) they would be in Big Trouble.

Instead of spending money to secure systems, they want to lock people up for life and threaten to have them male raped or fried. I don't think they realise how insane they sound

Gary's crime was non violent and a non violent crime should never be an extraditable offence but what should we expect from a country that runs a concentration camp called Guantanamo and advocates and approves of torture/waterboarding.

They didn't want to extradite the IRA terrorists that were funded by America and blew up women and children, policemen and police dogs throughout the UK but the American government liked those terrorists.
They refused to extradite them and that's one of the reason they refused to sign the so called Extradition treaty between America and the UK but signed only by the U.K

America wants to lock Gary up for a ridiculous amount of years because they are embarrassed that their security is worse than useless and there's the facts.

If you leave your doors wide open you wouldn't even get insured.

I just wish they would grow up and get a sense of Humour instead of wanting to lock up, threaten rape, bomb and kill everyone they take a dislike to.

Glad to see that the Good Americans are clamouring for a change of leader but when Al Gore dared to win, the Republicans had a coup.

So much for Democracy in the U.S.A

We are incredibly worried and quite literally terrified of Gary being sent to thevUSA.

We have been in a continual state of torment for the past six and a half years which have been a sentence in themselves.

I will find more information to send you, although I'm worried about inundating you with my innermost feelings of fears.
